Wow, Danielle. I'm so completely moved by this story. The father of one of my 5-year old daughter's best friends died a year ago, and I remember hesitating about whether or not I should take my daughter to the funeral. I did, and she was so glad to be there for her friend, and I will never forget that. Nor will I forget your song, and the power that music has to share very personal things on a universal level. Thanks so much.

@DeidreRodmanStruck, yes there is. During my junior year of high school, a dear friend of mine died. The song is basically describing the feeling of grief - "The feeling when you miss a step and fear comes flooding in...", thinking back on her funeral and how I tried to comfort one of her best friends I didn't know very well at first - "I promise you, today you won't be walking out alone."

Hi Danielle!!! What a rich song, in every sense. And your piano playing is off the hook!! Is there a story behind the song?
