@ Claudia Thanks so much! Especially for the advice. It was so much fun to learn this and all the other Lieder I have or am working on.
Wonderful performance, Juliet! Brahms is one of my favorite composers. Your German diction is indeed shaping up beautifully. Careful not to double up single consonants, e.g. a little too much t in "guten" in the first verse - I feel like you're doubling it up for dramatic purposes, as your Knabe's style of speaking is more staccato than his Schatz's, but you can find other ways to express this while maintaining good diction. You roll your r's beautifully - just make sure that you don't sometimes have a little bit of an American r creeping in along with them. Beautiful singing and great character delineation in this challenging Lied! Please share more with us when you can!
@Jonathon Thank you! I'll definitely check it out.
Lovely job! Your German diction is on point, as far as I can tell. Check out this blog post about singing art songs, particular in that language. You can share this video there, or on the Voice Studio group comment wall here >
@Evan Thanks! It was performed at the Tenri Cultural Institute in Manhatten.
Wow, I'm impressed! Thanks for sharing, Juliet! Where was this performed?
