Ms. Friedlander

Thank you so much for showing me how to join. Forgive my ignorance, but what do I do from here? Do I download me singing? or do I take a trip to meet and be part of the Voice Studio?

Hi, Claudia! Thank you very much. As of right now, I do not compose choral music. However, this could change in the future. The piano music I compose is very much inspired by the choral setting. Many of the chord voicings I use, as well as the harmonic and melodic lines, are influenced by the way the music would be set up for a group of singers. I've spent a lot of time performing with a chorus and taking private classical voice lessons. Singing isn't my first talent, but the repertoire definitely helps my composition.

The music program is still going good at Doherty. We actually just had our spring musical, we performed "Guys and Dolls", and i was a dancer and singer.

Hi Claudia.

I am a lyrical singer (mezzo) from Greece and would like to inquire on whether there are any voice masterclasses taking place this summer on singing arias or musical theatre at Carnegie hall and who should I address to, to sign up. Could you pls email me with the information on k.batzaki@yahoo.com  thanks, Katerina

Hey Claudia. Yeah I won a chair as a violist with Albany just a few months ago. I'll totally say hi to him for you, but it might be a while - we have a guest conductor for this month's concert, and the next time I'm slated to play with them is in January.

Hey Claudia, I just wanted to tell you that you are the reason I joined the Carnegie Exchange. I was looking for help online for diction in singing and one of your master class videos on here came up. I watched it, found it super helpful, started looking around the site and signed up! I did post a question in that discussion that I'd love your opinion on, if you get a chance. :)

Oh wow. Composition is one thing--I'm indeed in the midst of writing a song for a friend and I'm interested in knowing a professional's point of view about it. But my singing is where I'm most 'sensitive'--I feel like I don't have anything worth selling, though I've had some training. I have a small repertoire but I can't help second guessing myself constantly. I am willing to learn, however. Always.

I sing too.

But I'm not a confident singer. May I please get to know her ?

It would be a pleasure.

Hi Ma'am,

I would love to do a lesson on Skype sometime. It's just that I recently completed my grade 12 exams and now have to appear and prepare for various entrance exams to colleges. If you could let me know when you're free , I'll try and work around it.And i do have to admit that I'm a little out of touch with singing amidst all these exams.Thank you so much for reaching out.

Sorry, having trouble with IM. Feel free to update the description, and let me know if you want to have the video tell it's own story or if you plan to add it to another post.

Hi Claudia!

As a pianist who sometimes accompanies singers, what would you say are the major things -mistakes haha- we make while playing?

Greetings!
