Comment by Peyton Downs on May 10, 2013 at 9:11pm My inspiration comes from everything around me. I love writing about God and I love writing about how myself or someone else might feel in a situation. I just love writing because it clears my head.
Comment by Elijah David Webb on May 10, 2013 at 8:27pm My musical inspirations are definitely those that write movie soundtracks. Thomas Newman is my most favorite and then Hans Zimmer and Alexandre Desplat. They are my top three most inspirational by far. I listen to them all the time. Because what they do for their living is what I want to do in the future. Music just gives me a joy that nothing else can give. There are many things that inspire me in this life, but music is up there with some of the highest.
Definitely acting and my role models. As I act, I want to sing for my role. Judy Kaye and Meryl Streep make me want to live better
Comment by Grace Law on December 31, 2012 at 3:57pm Often, when I am in search of fulfilling inspiration. I will simply go on an "interneting" spree, where I look at mostly vocalists and string players, because there are so many things that I can "see" from a different point of view (rather than watching other flutists) this helps me keep my commonalities from other artists and allowing for my own originality. In other times when I don't quiet know what I'm looking for, I immerse myself in a art piece. The process of creating something else usually sheds light on what I am looking for, or didn't know I was looking for... Like this photo of a triple horn I painted.

Comment by Manuel Ortiz on August 9, 2012 at 11:12am The thing that inspires me musically is to be on a concert hall, specially in the audience! Is wonderful to hear someone playing music, and doing it myself.

Comment by Pravini Baboeram-Mahes on July 20, 2012 at 10:51am My main inspiration has been soul music, I find the songwriting and the compositions so classic, it really forms the foundation of a lot of pop music today. For my new project Diaspora Beats I recently turned to Bollywood music which has been like an inspirational bomb to me. RD Burman is a Indian composer who created amazing compositions that resemble a lot of funk/jazz/soul songs today. I really feel he was ahead of his time. I also find inspiration in my ambition, everything that I want to do and achieve I write about, to empower myself and hopefully empower others as well.
Comment by Emma Dowdy on July 2, 2012 at 7:53pm I am inspired a lot by musical theatre. So many of the songs I can relate to and I can practically find a song for any occasion in my life. I am also very inspired by ballet. The elegance of both the dancers and the music can bring me to tears. I am also oddly inspired by the ocean. It has a sense of freedom with its vastness and its many creatures.
