My main inspiration to even begin playing guitar was the Beatles, and I went on to taking an interest in contemporary indie singers such as Ingrid Michaelson and Regina Spektor, as well as groups like Fleet Foxes and Mumford and Sons.

In terms of whom I'm most inspired by currently, I'd say Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard are number one for me. They both are acoustic artists who don't require others to enhance their performance, and it's just them and an acoustic guitar. I'm most inspired in writing songs when it's just me and a guitar, and I hope to emulate that one day in my music.

Abby this page is fantastic. Have you listened to much Patty Griffin? I saw her live this summer and she did this one song, I'll have to remember which one, but it was just her and a guitar and it was raw and beautiful. Her voice is unique and it was really moving.

Though I will say what I also like about a great song (like yours), is that it will still hold up in any number of arrangements/genres/styles/productions. I love your songs as it is, but I could also hear it, say, on Austin City Limits, with a full band, or on the Letterman show with horns. Sometimes I like imagining my songs in different ways just to see where that thinking takes me..

Abby your song is really great. The guitar playing is awesome and your voice reminds me of Nico. I love the vibrato that you do at 1:20. It's really cool that it's so fast, as not a lot of singers do that. Really looking forward to hearing more!
