Carnegie Hall: Three things you love about music?
Mallika: The things I love about music are that it soothes me when I’m going through an inner turmoil. It takes my mind off things for a while and altogether sends me to a different world. When nothing else makes any sense only music is meaningful to me. It relaxes my mind.
Carnegie Hall: What is the best musical advice that anyone has ever given you?
Mallika: Do music with all your heart and soul, and enjoy every bit of it.
Carnegie Hall: Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Mallika: My Dad. He is the one and only person who I can truly depend upon. He has achieved everything he wished for, which certainly makes me look up to him.
Carnegie Hall: Your favorite motto (or favorite quote)?
Mallika: "Live and let live" —Anonymous
Carnegie Hall: Can you tell us about the most fun you ever had a musical event?
Mallika: It wasn't too long ago when we (my team members) were preparing for India's Got Talent: Season 3. It was a great learning experience and simultaneously fun too.
Carnegie Hall: How did you start playing?
Mallika: I started playing violin in class when I was 6. I was motivated by my father to pursue music and I developed a greater interest over time.
Carnegie Hall: Where is your favorite place to go?
Mallika: Paris.
Carnegie Hall: What are the three best things about your city/school?
Mallika: Our school is situated in the middle of the tea garden. The landscape of the school is picture perfect. The gardens and the friendly people make everyone feel at home.
Carnegie Hall: Have any advice for other musicians?
Mallika: "Music speaks what cannot be expressed, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul." Fill yourself with music and get motivated in whatever you do.
