More about me:
The Strings Attached project introduced neighborhood youth to American Roots Music and opportunities for music education and community performance.
"The Strings Attached project" is a non-profit educational program of The Vine. The project provides low-cost music education to St. Louis youth and free loaner guitars for those in need.
The project introduces youth to American Roots Musics: Blues, Jazz. Country, Folk, Bluegrass and Gospel. It also stresses St. Louis music history in its curriculum.

Youth ages 5-17 are introduced to American roots music through song practice and oral history. American roots music is music that developed in the United States and includes styles such as bluegrass, jazz, blues, country/western and traditional folk. An emphasis is placed on song and artists of the St. Louis region including Chuck Berry, Scott Joplin, and John Hartford.
Strings Attached provides loaner guitars to youth who lack instruments to practice with at home. It also awards guitars to youth who attend weekly lessons with consistency, have good practice skills and demonstrate a willingness to give back to the community through performance.
