The Musical Jugglers

Posted on March 26, 2013 at 1:45am 0 Comments

Well then, nearing the deadline I finally uploaded the score I made for the Film Score Project and this blog serves as a broad explanation of the music I made.

The general idea I had was to make the instruments 'juggle' and the melody we hear as one is actually shared by the oboe and the clarinet -a very important detail is that the version of Sibelius I own didn't take in account that for the Clarinet in Bb we should write different notes to those we, I have to change that…

Beginning a Composition

Well, today I sat down to compose a bit for The Film Score Project. It is always interesting to sit without knowing what's going to happen next.

And since many fellow members of this community have asked how to compose music...well, in this post I intend write how I did it so far, just in case anybody finds it useful for this project or future creations.…

Thank you so much Pamela!!! Really appreciate it and I did work on giving it my best shot. Kudos to you too on a job well done. Love the counterpoint feel brought me right back to the period of Bach and Handel and you threw in the comic in for good measure. Really good stuff. I hope you had fun writing as much as I did. Afterall, this is a great opportunity we have gained so...awesome!!!!!!

Yeah, we're pretty lucky to have access to such high quality free software. Effect > Amplify should work for boosting the volume. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Pam. Of course I remember you. I'm fine. If you're using Audacity, there are a couple tricks. Go to Effect > Amplify, or try any of the many other leveling options. Audacity also has a noise reduction option. Go to Effect > Noise Removal.

As a general rule, try getting your voice closer to the mic, and your instruments slightly further away. Let me know if you need help with some other aspect of audio adjustment.
