My musical instrument(s):
Accordion, Banjo, Drum Set, Electric Bass, Guitar, Piano / keyboard, Trombone, Voice
My other musical interests, styles, and instruments are:
Grew up on funk and soul, thanks to my dad. Grew up wiht punk, emo, and folk rock, but grooved to rap and pop as well. Now I'm genuinely interested in the history of music around the world and teaching the history of American music to the world's children.
My favorite artists, influences, and inspirations are:
Ryan Adams, James Brown, Tom Waits, Mississippi John Hurt, Beatles, Velvet Underground, Miles Davis, David Lynch, Plath, Joyce, the way it feels when your arm hair barely touches your crush's arm hair, traveling in a van with instruments.
More about me:
I've been trying to write songs since I was a 3 year old. I'm older now, but I'm still trying. I'm never going to give up on music-- it never gave up on me.
That's really awesome! How do you like it? Do you think it's worth all the money? I'm still kind of trying to figure out how to navigate this whole site, but sometime soon I'll try and update/personalize my profile with more songs.
Hey Joseph! I see you go to NYU! I'm a high school senior and NYU was where I was DYING to go, but even with the scholarship NYU gave me it was just too expensive...so I decided to go to JMU next year. But anyway, I listened to a couple of your songs for the songwriting challenges, and I love your sound! What are you studying at NYU?
