More about me:
I've been a singer my whole life--starting off in church choir when I was 5 years old. As a kid, my Mom would take me to all the local high schools in the area to see their musicals, and I got bitten by the Broadway Bug! In High School I thought I wanted to be on Broadway, until I realized that what I actually love most is teaching! I taught choir for a little bit and ran a Music and Drama summer camp in Virginia for many years before moving to New York and starting working at Carnegie Hall. I continue to sing in choirs here in New York City and try to see as many shows as I can.

Oh god, I don't even know where to start. Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Lambert Hendricks & Ross, Annie Ross, Sarah Vaughn, Diana Krall, Kurt Elling, Thelonious Monk, Esperanza Spalding, Gretchen Parlato, and so many more.

Thanks Erica! Regarding practicing and developing scatting, all I can say is listening. Pretty much all we can do as musicians to improve our crafts. Listen, practice scatting scales within different progressions, and again, listening.

Stay jazzy:)
