Hello Fellow Musical Exchange Members!

It's such a great experience to be a part of this group.

Just by way of background, I'm a professional musician based in NYC. I moved here in 2001 and for years I played every gig I could get, supplementing my income as a real estate broker.
I played with all sorts of different groups. Lots of singer songwriters, rock bands, noise avant garde gigs, blues and country bands.
In 2011 I released a record on the label Tzadik of Armenian Music Inspired Punk songs. That caught the attention of Lou Reed and I began touring and playing with him. It was a great experience. In 2012 Diana Krall asked me to be a part of her band, and I've been touring with her for about a year now. We've done over 100 shows!

It's great to be able to hear her sing these amazing songs every night - we really cover such a wide range of music, from 1920's ballads, to Tom Waits, to standards like Sunny Side of the Street.

I'm excited to be a part of the Songwriting Project because while I'm a great guitarist and I write occasional songs, I've never had to dig into it before. It's going to push me a bit, which is an important thing to always be doing if you want to grow as an artist.

Hi Aram. Glad to have you in the community. I would be happy to add your school to the list so that you can update that profile question. Can you please tell me what school you're associated with? Thanks.
