Imagine playing with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra in this beautiful venue!
Nashville has a great jazz scene!
The Aberdeen International Jazz Festival looks like a lot of fun, especially the action at The Blue Lamp. Looks like they're announcing the lineup tomorrow, in fact! You'll have to let us know who is on the lineup. In the video below, from last year, I see that Chicago's Hypnotic Brass Ensemble came through. They're one of my favorite jazz acts - they add a hip-hop flare! Did you get to see them? I've shared a video of them below, playing along with Harlem's McCollough Sons of Thunder.
Energetic Brass! Hypnotic Brass Ensemble & McCollough Sons of Thunder
Best City for Jazz in the UK would possibly be Aberdeen (where I go to school). We have a big international jazz festival every year and lot's of groups exist in the city. Glasgow has lot's of small more intimate jazz bard ect though, same for London! :-) I think it's hard to find a city with no jazz!
Jazz Boston offers tons of free downloads of local artists.
NYC! Boston comes in a close second for me, though..
@Elizabeth: That's awesome! They've got a nice "Music Library" on their site - an audio playlist of past performances - great quality. You're playing there as part of the Jazz Standard Discovery Program? Check out this 15 year old sax player doing her thing there!
New York City!!!!!
Harlem has good things, basically NYC in general.
In fact, im joining a jazz band at the Jazz Standard club in downtown nyc
I'm partial to my hometown of Chicago, but Harlem is doing big things too!
