Gerhardt A Fox i heard reptilian horns.. i love that that your background music features tabla, and i get the fact about not being inspired by the person you love..this is a really good track.

Comment by Gerhardt A Fox on June 5, 2014 at 8:00am

if anyone wants to listen to the track, i spent a LOT of time on it over the past couple months and i made it all by myself from scratch.

Reptilian Horns on Soundcloud

Reptilian Horns

I fear the one I love

That's what makes us all human

But the power that runs through me feels divine

I sacrifice my childhood

Innoncence to fly

Levitate and touch the dark moon sky

As the beast enters the void

All my illusions are destroyed

Set me free from the coil

And slither deep down into my soul

Fill me with reptilian horns

Master, fill me with reptilian horns

Plunge into the deep abyss

And hope that you survive

No rest for the wicked in this life

Annihilate myself willingly

To become divine

The serpent and the angel intertwined

As the beast enters the void

All my illusions are destroyed

Set me free from the coil

And slither deep down into my soul

Fill me with reptilian horns

Master, fill me with reptilian horns

Eat the fruit

Eat the fruit

And be wise

As the beast enters the void

All my illusions are destroyed

Set me free from the coil

And slither deep down into my soul

Fill me with reptilian horns

Master, fill me with reptilian horns

Master, fill me with reptilian horns

Master, fill me with reptilian horns

I never knew how to dance

But I knew how to hold your hand

And that's all I need

'Cause I'm bordering insanity

Yeah you're my reality

You take that away from me

I'm gone, I'm gone

Chorus:

Gotta step over the broken hearts

Mop up my wounds 'fore the bleeding starts

You've got your finger on the trigger and you're gonna pull it

I dodged a bullet

Love exists

I know this from experience

But you test this theory everyday

Now I see clearly every way

Is blocked for us

But I'm willing to clear the way for you

I'm willing to put it all aside for you

For you

When I go by your face

I see a place

Where I'm who I wanna be

Bending reality

Why are they looking at me

I'm bordering insanity baby,

I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone

When I look at the sky

I look at the stars

I know that tonight

I don't know where you are

But I know that you're looking up at them too

X2

Chorus.

I dodged a bullet X3

TITLE: Cry for Love Tonight
LINK: https://vimeo.com/97385969
PASSWORD: carnegiehall

LYRICS:
I’ve been waiting for this moment
Wishing we’d be more than friends
Holding back an avalanche of feelings
Stuck in my head

Here we are we’re in this moment
With my wishes coming true
Going crazy being crazy over you
dreaming you would say talk me
So I could say to you

Take me by the soul into your life
Listen to my heart look to my eyes
Cause for the first time I know what love is like
Kiss me while I cry for love tonight

Used to spend my tears on loneliness
But they dried up on their own
When I heard you saying that you want to
Want me alone

We can climb the highest mountain
While I cry these brand new tears
I'm so happy that we're happening today
I've been waiting here for you
While you've been waiting there...to

Take me by the soul into your life
Listen to my heart look to my eyes
Cause for the first time I know what love is like
Kiss me while I cry for love tonight

This feeling that I never knew
Deep down inside I know you felt it too

So take me by the soul into your life
Listen to my heart look to my eyes
Cause for the first time I know what love is like
Kiss me while I cry for love tonight

Thanks everybody – especially Diedre, Mike and Yasmin – for such a great experience! My songwriting skills have grown immensely over the past two months, and not only that, but I’ve also had a lot of fun (of course!).

Below is my submission. I’m the one dancing and playing the synths while my sister is singing the lyrics. I created the drums, guitar, and bass on my computer and am using them as backing tracks. Everything else I’m playing live.

Once again, thanks for such a great opportunity!

Can’t Stop Us Now

Verse 1

No time to close my eyes as all these colors pass me by

Always pushing forward always reaching for the speed of light

Losing sense of time, Lost in a moment’s high

Sound and silence all collide and I’m taking in the sight

Verse 2

My mind is screaming run; I thought for sure I’d be undone

For this soundscape offers no escape, to try is suicide

How could I be so blind? so caught up living life?

Now I’m facing fire and there’s nothing left of me but lies

Pre-Chorus

Just awhile now I’ll disappear, let go of all my fear

Just a moment I’ll be nothing but a fleeting image in your mind

Try to stop me but you can’t stop me, can’t hold me you don’t own me

For the Father, Son and me oh we’re all one inside

Chorus

Can’t stop us, you can’t stop us, can’t stop us, you can’t stop us

Can’t stop us, you can’t stop us now, no

Verse 3

Here I stand on raging seas, just you, the storm and me

These waves are growing but they can’t drag us underneath

‘Cause every wall will crumble down, every kingdom fall without a sound

Every soldier in every war will just lay down without a fight

Singing Solfege

By: Madison Marino

i hate that feeling when you're staring at a blank page

don't really know how to put what's in your mind into words

i hate that feeling you can't describe in anyway

'cause anyway you try you end up sounding completely absurd

but you know, you really know it does exist

you know that feeling that puts your mind in a mist

and with everything i do

i look for his attention

and with everyone i talk to

his name i try to mention

he never pays my mind

you'd think i'd learn my lesson

but i don't, 'cause

[chorus]

hey there little boy i've got a crush on you

you're making my cheeks blush a rosy color that is true

hey there little boy for you i've got a thing

you're making my heart sing

a singing do da do ba do da de do

you've made me speechless

i can't put this in words

but i can sure sing

even if i sound absurd

maybe you've heard

me singing re mi re mi re mi re mi re mi fa sol

ah re mi re mi re mi re mi do ti la sol

re mi re mi re mi re mi la sol mi sol

fa mi re do ti, la ti do

[bridge]

you've made me fall into a place

where i normally wouldnt fall

but somehow i've tripped at the sight of your face

i think i'm losing it, i'm losing it all

saying things that i wouldn't normally say

doing things i wouldn't normally do

acting in a completely different way

and it's all because of you

wanting things i would never ask for

wanting them more and more

like a quick little dance

sweet summer romance

so come on take this chance

with me,

dont listen to my plea

baby baby don't you ever disappear

because my only fear

is that you'll never pull me near

or hear me out

or know what this song is about

and i know i sound awfully

just down right cheesy

but i can't help it if you make me

silly and giddy and full of glee

constantly, singing this melody

oh ah re mi re mi re mi re mi re mi fa sol

ah re mi re mi re mi re mi do ti la sol

ah re mi re mi re mi re mi la sol mi sol

la sol fa mi re

la ti do, re do, mi do, la ti do

@Yasmin de Soiza

I'm wondering..I just read a comment on here that said that you'd prefer the video to be a live performance rather than a music video.  I sort of made a music video type of deal before realizing that.  Will this disqualify me?

Comment by Becca Kling on June 3, 2014 at 11:38pm

This is my song called Damaged. Hope you like it!

(verse 1)

intuition never got me too far

following my gut is what tore me apart

I find myself stopping before it gets too hard

there once was boy who broke my heart

well you can take the long road if you want a heartbreak

but I take the short cut and save myself the pain

every close encounter is a memory replayed

of him saying goodbye and walking away

(chorus)

did you have to go did you have to leave

you pulled the rug from beneath my feet

now im

just a little bit damaged

I'll never love again

never trust those eyes

telling me it'll be alright

i'm just a little bit damaged

(verse 2)

I fell too quickly and easily it seems

you were the brick wall at the bottom of my crash landing

and there was no way that I could have foreseen

that'd i'd go on missing you as you forget about me

(bridge)

no matter what your heart says

don't follow it

cause in the blink of an eye he'll push you aside

and your left to deal with it

all alone

Here is my song "Missing"! I wrote it because I had lost my voice for a couple of months which scared me more than anything in my life! So to me, it's about laryngitis. Here is goes! Thanks for this awesome experience :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1M-AHXKhF8&feature=youtu.be

Have you seen the part of me that never should have left?

It answers to 'the one'

The one true thing that I have ever had

It doesn't know the void it left in me

Or that I'm someone else

Without it I feel like an empty shell

Chorus:

No one tells you when time is up

Your feet fall out from where they pull the rug

And it's not enough

But you want to run

And scream that everything you love is missing

Missing

It used to be the heart of me

Identity

Without it, I am anything...

Anything but who I want to be

How will I know how to brave the night without my power source?

How to run from this dark horse

Chorus:

No one tells you when time is up

Your feet fall out from where they pull the rug

And it's not enough

But you want to run

And scream that everything you love is missing

Missing

Have you seen a piece of me?

Just listen for the sound

Because, in me, you see

The silence has never been so loud

I want to be loud

Chorus:

No one tells you when time is up

Your feet fall out from where they pull the rug

And it's not enough

But you want to run

And scream that everything you love is missing

Missing

Here goes somethin'!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrtLOqLXDKA

The shop keeper is a daydreamer

he's got plans

just like you

The daydreamer is a believer

he's got motives too

Go down the road tha few have gone

Think it's called the road less traveled

Follow the voice that you hear

It's possible your dreams will unravel

Let it Go

Someone told me

Let it go

Someone said

Let it go

Someone told me

Get those negative thougths

Out your head

The school teacher is a daydreamer

wants to inspire you

 The student is a believer

They follow what you do

The parent is a role model

They have desires too

We're all children

under this sun

Just think what you could do

Let it go

Someone told me

Let it go

Someone said

Let it go

Someone told me

Get those negative thoughts out your head

Get those negative thoughts out your head

Get those negative thoughts out your head...

@Kaitlyn Mann I love your intro on piano. Your lyrics are lovely. They are open to interpretation which is nice.
