I don't Really know what direction to take the bass part in. I feel as if it would be to boring if it just followed the chords. I would like to add some interest in the Background before I decide on a main melody.

Hi, Tyler!  This is a really cool track.  With regard to bass lines, I don't think it would be boring following the chords if you did something interesting rhythmically with it. You could do a counter melody that could play off of your guitar part.  A song that has a great bass line is Grey Seal by Elton John.  It doesn't always follow the chords but it has a lot of repetition of the same note with rhythmic variations.  Hope this helps.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  -Kaitlyn
